Terms of service
Plain terms for a plain service. If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy; we would rather answer than argue later.
The legal business name, jurisdiction, and contact address are being confirmed and will be added here before any payment is accepted. Until then this page is a draft of the terms we intend to operate under.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms are a contract between you and Hexane Hosting ("Hexane", "we") for game server hosting ordered through this website. Our legal business name, jurisdiction, and contact address are listed at the top of this page once confirmed. By ordering a plan or using a server we provide, you accept these terms, the acceptable use policy, the refund policy, and the privacy policy.
2. The service
We rent you a game server instance on hardware we operate, with a control panel to manage it. Each plan states the container memory limit, CPU quota, disk allocation, and number of backup slots you receive. Those numbers are limits, not guarantees of game performance, which depends on your software, settings, and players. We currently operate a single machine in one location, Miami, Florida. We do not promise a specific uptime percentage, network capacity, or protection against denial-of-service attacks beyond what our data center provider supplies.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to open an account, or at least 13 with a parent or guardian who accepts these terms and is responsible for payment.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account and your server, including by co-owners you invite.
- Give us a working email address. It is how we send receipts and service notices, and it is the address your sign-in links go to.
4. Prices, tax, and the welcome offer
Prices are shown in US dollars per month and exclude any applicable sales or use tax. Where tax applies to your order, it is calculated and shown on the checkout page before you confirm, and you will never be charged a tax amount you were not shown first. The current plans are 4 GB at $12.00, 6 GB at $18.00, 8 GB at $24.00, 12 GB at $36.00, 16 GB at $48.00 per month. The Launch welcome offer takes 20% (up to $12.00) off the first monthly invoice of one new service per new customer while the initial cohort of 12 paid accounts is open. It does not change the renewal price, cannot be combined with other credits, and is withdrawn if the first invoice is refunded.
5. Automatic monthly renewal
Every plan is a monthly subscription that renews automatically at the price shown on your order and in your account, on the same day each month, until you cancel. Before you pay, the checkout page states the price, that billing is monthly and recurring, and how to cancel, and you must actively confirm the recurring charge. We send a confirmation email stating the renewal price and how to cancel, and every charge appears on the billing page in your account with a link to its invoice. We do not send a separate reminder before each renewal, so if you do not want the next charge, cancel from your account. If we ever change a plan's renewal price, we give at least 30 days' notice by email first, and you can cancel before it applies.
6. Payment, failed payment, and suspension
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- If a renewal payment fails, we retry and email you. 3 days after the due date the server is suspended: it stops and cannot be started, but its files are kept.
- Paying the overdue invoice restores the server automatically, as long as the subscription is still open. Stripe stops retrying before our 14 days are up and may close the subscription; after that a payment does not reach us as a renewal, so contact us and we will restore the server if the files are still there.
- 14 days after suspension the server is scheduled for deletion and its files are removed. We email a final warning before that happens.
- Disputed payments suspend the service until the dispute is resolved. We would much rather you ask us for a refund than dispute a charge; see the refund policy.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account, online, without contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: you keep the server until then and are not charged again. You may instead ask for immediate cancellation. Download a backup from the panel before the server stops, because once a cancellation takes effect the server is stopped and you can no longer open it. We keep the files for 7 days after that and then delete them permanently. Ask support inside that window and we will send you a copy.
8. Refunds
New services carry a 72-hour refund window starting at the moment your panel login and server are delivered (service availability). The full policy, including what happens if we cannot provision your server, is on the refund policy page. Nothing in these terms limits refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable law.
9. Changing plans
You can change size from your account, on the same server, so your world, plugins, and address stay as they are. Moving up takes effect as soon as you confirm, and Stripe invoices the prorated difference for the rest of the month. Moving down takes effect at your next renewal, so you keep what you have already paid for, and you can undo it at any time before that date. We never delete files to make a smaller plan fit: if your server is using more disk than the smaller plan allows, every file stays and the server simply cannot write new ones until you free space. Your account shows the disk figures for both sizes before you confirm.
10. Our responsibilities
- We run the hardware, the panel, and the network connection, and we fix faults on our side as quickly as one person reasonably can.
- We announce planned maintenance in advance on the status page and by email when it affects your server.
- Backup slots are provided as a tool for you. Backups are stored on the same machine as your server and are not an offsite backup service. Keep your own copies of important data.
- Support covers panel and account help, server start and crash triage, version and software changes, backups and restores, migrations within the included scope. It does not cover writing or debugging plugins and mods, building or configuring modpacks from scratch, in-game moderation, client-side performance on players' computers.
11. Your responsibilities
- Follow the acceptable use policy and the rules of the game you run, including the Minecraft EULA and its commercial usage rules.
- Do not attempt to exceed your plan's limits, interfere with other customers' servers, or attack any system.
- Keep your software up to date where updates fix security problems, and protect your players' data.
- You own your content and are responsible for it. You grant us only the permission needed to store and run it for you.
12. Suspension or termination for cause
We may suspend a server without notice if it is attacking others, is being used for illegal activity, or is causing harm to the machine or other customers, and we may terminate the service for serious or repeated breaches of these terms. In every other case we contact you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix the problem. Unless the breach makes it unreasonable, we keep your files for the normal retention period and will send you a copy if you ask inside it. A suspended server cannot be opened, so the copy comes from us rather than from the panel.
13. Migration help
Each new paid account includes one standard migration per new paid account, up to 20 GB, limited to a supported Minecraft server installation (world, plugins or mods, configs) from accessible source files or a panel we can log in to. It excludes custom development, same-hour or emergency service, repairing corrupted worlds, unsupported games. We schedule it with you after payment and do not promise zero downtime. Credentials for the source are shared only through the secure link we send.
14. Liability
The service is provided as described in these terms and without other warranties, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you could have backed up. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death, personal injury, fraud, or consumer rights.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations we email you at least 14 days before they take effect, and you may cancel before then. Continuing to use the service after that date accepts the new terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
16. Governing law and contact
The governing law and the business jurisdiction are stated here once our registration is confirmed; until then, no payment is accepted. Questions about these terms go to the support page.
